Mirasol FAFCO Solar
has been an innovator in solar energy products and swimming pool heaters since 1977. |
We carry on a tradition of energy efficient products for the home started by George W.
Egglefield in 1959 with the creation of Southern Insulation Co. For over 25 years Southern Insulation provided energy saving alternatives for
Sarasota, Charlotte and Manatee Counties. In 1977 Southern Insulation created a Solar Water Heating division which soon became Mirasol. Scott
Egglefield was among the first in the state of Florida to receive the Residential Solar Contractor license in 1980 and soon after that received the
State Certified Plumbing Contractor license which enabled Mirasol to install water heaters, swimming pool heat pumps and gas heaters.
In 1987 Mirasol
was approached by FAFCO, the leading manufacturer of Solar Pool Heating Panels and became their exclusive distributor for a five county area.for them.
In 2006 Mirasol obtained the State Solar
Contractor license which enables them to install Photovoltaic (solar
electric) systems.
Today, Mirasol FAFCO Solar has over 10,000 customers and spans three generations of
Egglefields with Jeremy and Damon Egglefield as the latest additions. Mirasol FAFCO Solar now offers additional products to make life easier such as
Pool/Spa Automation, Natural Purifiers for Pools, Solar Water Heaters, Pool Cleaners, Heat Pump Pool Heaters and Gas Pool Heaters.
The Installation, Service and Sales departments have a combined total of over 100 years of experience in the Solar Industry.
